The Projects of Museums Development

The complex development program has been worked out in accordance with "General Provisions on Culture" 9th October 1992 3612-1, of federal law concerning museum funds and museums of the Russian Federation, 26th May 1996, 54-FL, federal law concerning non-commercial organizations, 12th January 1996, 7-FL.

The program of complex development of the museum-reserve presupposes:
Development of urochische "Ostrovnoye" and creation of a museum complex there, as it is a unique historical, cultural territory with wonderful nature and one of Sholokhov's favourite places for fishing and recreation.

Reconstruction and creation of the museum in the typological water-mill historical complex on the territory of the spring "Otrog" in the western part of urochische "Ostrovnoye", which supplies stanitsa Veshenskaya with sweet water.

Construction of the museum tourist centre in khutor Kalininsky, which will allow developing museum and tourist infrastructure. Such typological buildings as Melekhov's and Astakhov's country estates, which served as decorations during the shooting of the film "And Quiet Flows the Don" may become the beginning of a new special display devoted to the screening of M.A. Sholokhov's novel.
